P2P evalution result

After receiving random p2p form from all the company, we need to categorize the human attitudes.
Quick discussion being held in Skype and the result is:

BAD IMPRESSIONS!
Why only impression? Because we do not know the attitude is result from the person itself (his habit) or only he made a mistake at that time. So judging by only looking at one or two mistakes is considered not enough to label the person bad!

TIME MANAGEMENT!
Surely one of the most important element in...almost everywhere. This category explain briefly about time habit in most normal people.

SUPPORTIVE ATTITUDE!
The good habit in people. These criterias are the highest in young Malaysia student..hopefully.

the Virtual 8th Meeting

After consulting Mr. Azhar about our project, with a lot of laughter and psycho-analysis questions, Mr. Azhar able to extract several problems need to be fix.

1. Gantt Chart do not follow the ordinary phases in SPM.
2. We do not have any meeting with the client (except for the first time we sign the agreement).
3. No meeting means no document, what if Pavillion suddenly want to change their requirement?, We need to prepare agreement, request change procedure and be more clear on the client side.
4. The process stated in the Gantt Chart need to have documents. For each of them!

After the meeting ends, Azmi did not ask us to hold any formal meeting(usually at the cafe), but to make Skype conference and discuss about the project there. (which we always did every week).

Even we do not have any meeting with the client (assuming we trust them they will ever not ask us to change anything..), but we still need to prepare the related documents. Till now from direct obeservation in the Skype conference, the document that already prepared are:

1. The Gantt Chart!
2. Requirement Checklist (for Pavillion)
3. Requirement Checklist (for 6 Centuries)

7th Meeting!

Finally! The seventh!

We managed to complete all the tasks given. The development of ASP.net courseware seem to meet the end. After several testing we were quite sure our client will love this software. By the way, warmest welcome for Hilman, the vice president is BACK! Yes he's BACK! The reason are definitely kept secret, but the absence of Hilman sure put us in a lot of pressure. Good to have him back.

The summary of tonight meeting:
1. Pair tasks all finished (100% complete!), and we ahead of development schedule.
2. The report has been compiled, we need to consult with Mr Azhar for his opinions
3. Confusion between progress report and Final Report.

Thats all, over and out. (no picture tonight)

The 6th Meeting!

The meeting start informally, soon everyone hoping their laptop batteries would last

The sixth meeting took place after the mid semester break. The aim is to check on everyone progress.

The President decide that the deadline for everyone to submit reports is the end of this week.

Below are the progress of ASP.NET development::

Chapter 1 and 4 :: 60 percent complete
Chapter 2 :: 50 percent
Chapter 3 :: 90 percent
User Manual, Interfaces and the System :: 90 percent

Overall Progress :: 70 percent

Saufi had mistakenly create a wrong report, he has to make a new one from scratch

Problems::
1. Need to research more courseware in the Literature Review
2. Integrate the User Manual and Interfaces in the Report on Chapter 3 Methodologies
3. Need to do the acceptance and conformance test with client.
4. Our vice president had been rendered out of league, leaving Saufi to do his work alone.

"The deadline is on Thursday, strictly!"
"Right.."

Economic Downturn, Vice President left 6Centuries?

Tuesday, February 4th 2008.

As result of grim economic, Vice President of 6 Centuries, Hilman Abdul Karim had left his beloved software company early this morning. "The leave is unavoidable, it is to make sure everyone has their chance and stay focus on their job" he commented after the SPM class.

Restructing has always been happening in the business world, companies have to compete each other with tight economy, the process not only applied to 6 Centuries but to all the software companies in UMP.

The leave however, put a new hope where resignees had their chance to construct a new company and start competing with other. This will bring a new business perspective and hopefully a more healthier competition. The President of 6 Centuries said "The whole thing is natural, if it not happen now, it will later"

Lets hope Hilman will be always successful with his new partners. We will always remember you.

4th and 5th 6 Centuries Meeting

The 4th Meeting 19th Jan

As same as always, the meetings took place at Cafe compound KK1. All member warmth their seat while awaiting the President to arrive.

The meeting start with the president checking on everyone progress. First of all he remind us to complete the P2P forms, asked us to fill the form with honesty.

This is night is blurry night, but it seem not to affect Filzah to take notes of everything.

Later on the President discuss the first matter, about the technique related to Software Project Management. Chin dig from the Internet several methodologies and shared with us. The President himself present his findings while other giving out comments and discussed either techniques are applicable or not. The discussion lead us to one resolution, ask Mr Adzhar advice.

Everyone seem to indulges deep in the discussion.

Other important things is the allocation of task, who have to done what. The task were listed and perhaps on the next meeting the President will announce what our task are.

Carry on the 5th meeting...>>

The 5th Meeting 21st Jan

PAVILION WINS!

Congratulations to PAVILION SDN BHD!

We proudly announce that PAVILION has won the contract of making our PETAKOM Website. Having a close match between S2S Corp and Ten10 Corp, PAVILION make they way to the final judgment without any pinch in their proposal, we love their work and they deserve the contract.

Everybody put they effort to determine which proposal is the best, or thinking about either Jemin will stand up and buy us free drinks again

WHY PAVILION?
  1. Strong company background, established since February 2003. So we know they have tonnes of experience - 7 years!
  2. PAVILION area of expertise matched with our interest. They have solid network with UMP, which mean the implementation of the website will be smooth .(Since the website will based on UMP server). They also stated that they happen to built a LOT of software for the KPM (Kementerian Pelajaran Malaysia)
  3. Layout of the website is being explained with storyboard. Nice.

Soo..serious..the atmosphere is heavy and you can hear each other breath

4. Other bonus aspects that make we love them:
  • They promised to construct a flash movie for website introduction
  • Provide FREE MAINTENANCE FOR 2 YEARS!
  • FREE to add features or function 6 MONTHS after release
5. They just happen to be the perfect company, maybe with some dark agreement or..again, kidding.

Somehow the dark aura enveloped the proposals make us confused and stunned, why they sent proposal with dark aura? Maybe because that is the right way.

Jemin:Lets ask PAVILION to add F-22 Fighter Jet Engine Propulsion System to our website, its free!
Yamin: Yeaa, thats cool..

Chin: I've dream PAVILLION win last night, now it become true
Jemin: Heyy, me too!

The ONLY downfall for the marvelous company is they want us to pay RM 30k! That's mind blowing, Ten10 only offer RM 10k and S2S corp did not even notice how much they want. But after considering the bonus factors and free stuff, we decide to pick PAVILION. Its WORTH it and we like FREE stuffs!

PAVILION WINS!
